Before I physically start to draw a face, I study the structure. Breaking it up in shapes, usually geometric. I start by scribbling multiple versions of the face or different pieces that I am  attracted to geometrically. Once I have the shapes mapped out I begin cleaning up the drawing using graphics paper to create the final line drawing, this is when I determine what the final medium will be.
