POSITIVE TIME TUESDAY

What changes have you started to make in 2016 to help yourself achieve your goals? Whether your goals are professional or personal there are small adjustments you can make in your lifestyle- instead of just a phase resolution. Let me tell you about some of mine!

As you read the title of this blog post you might realize that my fiancé and I decided to focus on days of the week. I thrive off of routine, so this works best for me. You do not have to do something special every single day to start off. Start by changing one day and adding small adjustments once those are strongly implemented into your routine. I like to make my changes easily adjustable in any environment, so if you travel this is perfect!

Mondays, I am no genius. I took a bit of advice from social media and simply do NO MAKE UP MONDAY'S. I can do this no matter where I am! Trust me, this has been a struggle of mine. I do not have the clearest skin so I was SUPER self conscious leaving the house without foundation or concealer at least. I let my low self esteem take over my confidence and started to care less and less about my appearance, or complete obsess over it. I have been doing this for a couple months now and it has really helped boost my confidence when I leave the house without slapping make up on and that in return has helped keep my skin much clearer.

Tuesday, I decided to hide the TV remotes. When you get home from a long day or sit down in front of the TV for some meal time entertainment it is sometimes difficult to get back up and be productive. So we do NO TV TUESDAY!

In the evenings we do a positive activity for an hour or two. Some things are visions boards, one hour dance party, journal time, etc. Along with that we also have a dinner date at home. Jay and I have definitely gotten in the habit of sitting down to watch Big Bang Theory or Modern Family during dinner. So instead we decided we will cook a healthy and scrumptious meal together and sit at the candle lit kitchen table and enjoy conversation. When Jay and I started dating 6 years ago we would always go to dinner, we learned a lot about each other over a variety of dinner dishes. Why stop now?

Thursday, we put our thinking caps on. We started doing this at the end of 2015, but it was hard for us to stay consistent because we didn't give ourselves a dedicated day. We call it THINK THURSDAY! This is our time to do what we call Entrepreneur Sessions- a time to educate ourselves with books, audios, and mentors conversation. There is so much to learn, it should not stop once you are out of the traditional classroom. We also take this time to review and set new goals- this give us the opportunity to see what progress we have made and what we need to work on next week, month, and year. We talk about professional and personal goals that we want to accomplish together or on our own.

Sunday, I am a little selfish. I like to take one day a week and give myself a couple of selfish hours alone for a home spa day. I am someone who really needs my personal space and this time really helps me unwind. I like to do a nourishing deep conditioning treatment on my hair or slap on a beautiful mud face mask. While I wait for those potions to do there magic I typically paint my nails and enjoy a nice cup of coffee or tea while I watch YouTube or catch up on one of my favorite shows. This is definitely a time I disconnect from the internet and just be with myself. I think it is really important to check in with yourself and your thoughts to make sure you are taking care of yourself.

Since we are starting to approach a new month take some time to see what small changes you can make in your routine to better your lifestyle, whether it be personal or professional. I have a strong feeling 2016 is going to be one of the best years yet! Will it be for you?
